Clare qualified as an employment solicitor in the UK in 2003, and is also qualified as a lawyer in Victoria, Australia. Clare joined Draper Lang in 2013

Clare gained extensive experience of UK employment law while working with David Blomfield at Boyes Turner solicitors. This covered the full range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including drafting all manner of employment related documentation (contracts, settlement agreements, letters, handbooks), and advising HR practitioners on day-to-day HR issues and claims.

While in Australia, Clare specialised in employment and industrial relations. With her knowledge of both jurisdictions, Clare often advised UK companies operating in Australia about their (often very different) obligations to their Australian employees. The Australian workplace environment is heavily unionised, and Clare has experience of representing employers in their negotiations and disputes with Unions.

Clare also provides tailored training for her clients on issues such as health and safety and discrimination.

Clare has also worked as a HR manager, recently completed a Masters in Human Resources Management (with distinction) and is a member of the CIPD.

Clare is currently undertaking a PHD and so is not currently a practising solicitor.
